Grails - the experimental rock institution that has been drawing on cultural curiosities for a quarter of a century - returns with their most personal and emotional album yet and a new tour. Together with Expensive $hit, they will tear down all genre boundaries at the Moritzbastei in Leipzig on 03.03.2026 and take your understanding of music ad absurdum.

While Grails still delights in reshaping bizarre and obscure sources into something often revelatory and surreal, the new album "Miracle Music" does so with a soaring melodic power that feels sacred. Miracle Music's lineup includes co-founders Emil Amos (Om, Holy Sons, Lilacs & Champagne) and Alex Hall (Lilacs & Champagne), as well as returning members AE Paterra (Zombi, Majeure), Jesse Bates and Ilyas Ahmed. Produced by Amos, Miracle Music reunites the group with engineer Jason Powers and his Type Foundry Studio in Portland, Oregon, where the first Grails albums were made more than two decades ago. Full of acoustic and electric guitars, synthesizers, woodwinds, brass, samples, percussion - and featuring horn arrangements by Kelly Pratt (David Byrne, M. Ward) - "Miracle Music" opens up an exquisite new horizon for Grails. As creatively indefatigable as ever, Grails strike a balance between the boundary-pushing claustrophobia of early industrial music and the airy melodies of classical compositions to create the heavy mood of Miracle Music. In a catalog marked by erratic deviations, this is Grails' most sentimental and high-minded journey yet.

Expensive $hit (aka Paul Quattrone, one half of the drumming duo Osees) combines vintage electronic drum pads, samplers and an array of distortion and delay pedals with acoustic drums to create a rhythm/noise hybrid worthy of a generator-powered sonidero party in a Mexican parking lot. There are numerous echoes of afrobeat, krautrock, dub and harsh noise.
