Hardly any other German statesman has been so reviled, hardly any other has cut his way through the thicket of hostility so successfully - to become a recognized celebrity and one of the most important protagonists of left-wing thought in Germany.

Gregor Gysi, born in Berlin in 1948, is a lawyer, author, podcaster, presenter and politician. From 1990-2002 and from 2005-2015, he was parliamentary group leader of the PDS, or "Die Linke" party, in the Bundestag. From 2020-2023, he was foreign policy spokesman for the Left Party. Gregor Gysi is also a successful author, including his bestselling autobiography "One life is too little".

He was part of RTL's "7 Köpfe" for ten years and hosted the popular WDR game show NRWDuell for the same length of time. He also tours Germany with his cabaret programs.

Bernd Stelter has written several non-fiction books and novels, including his camping thrillers "Der Tod hat eine Anhängerkupplung" and "Der Killer kommt auf leisen Klompen".

Bernd Stelter lives with his wife near Cologne, but is in Holland as often as possible and loves camping.
