The climate is collapsing, fascism is coming ever closer to power - and a significant proportion of society remains in denial about these facts. Because we are afraid of a future full of catastrophes, powerlessness and darkness. This is precisely where the emerging "collapse movement" comes in: by collectively accepting the failure of our previous strategies, it opens up the space to develop realistic strategies for solidary practices in an increasingly catastrophic future. This takes away some of the fear of the future and makes it more difficult for fascism to conquer society.

Tadzio Müller is a political scientist and climate justice activist. He was the first advisor for climate justice at the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung and co-founder of the anti-coal initiative "Ende Gelände". He discusses climate movement strategies on his blog friedlichesabotage.net.
