Hepta Polka

In the organizer's words:

folk | balkan | polka

It has become a small ship tradition that Hepta Polka is a guest in spring. Almost exactly a year after their last show on the Stubnitz, the seven-piece band is back and will once again get the ship's belly shaking and dancing. From Klezmer, Balkan and Eastern European sounds to Scandinavia, France, Celtic and North German roots. With a multitude of instruments, enormous virtuosity and the knowledge of good arrangements, Hepta Polka conveys a musical energy that transports folkloristic traditions with international access into the present day - very danceable!

The evening does not end after the concert: The party is carried into the night with the finest Balkan/Indiesounds from the can.

Hepta Polka

With soprano saxophone, Hardanger fiddle and a further 15 instruments, the 7 multi-instrumentalists bring the crowds to sweet ecstasy time and again. The friends, ex-roommates and twins know how to surprise the ears with clever arrangement ideas. It gets you dancing, exudes passionate energy and connects people in a very special way. Irish traditionals, Scandinavian circle dances, Serbian-Turkish originals and wild polka fidgeting are what make this mix of music so irresistible. The seven musicians regularly gather input at festivals and international collaborations. It's hard to put into words, but you'll be captivated by the alternation of solos, fat instrumentals and vocal features. Hepta Polka plays for the people and gives them the evening they've needed for a long time - full of musical energy, dreamy listening and absolutely unrestrained going off.
