Electronic family festival brings top DJs to a historic setting

With the HighRoot X Summer in the City event, organizer mainzplus is announcing another event for "Summer in the City" 2026. Following established events in Taunusstein, the cross-generational open-air concept is now moving to the Citadel and combining electronic music with a unique historical backdrop. With top international DJ acts such as Milk & Sugar, The Disco Boys and Tom Novy as well as regional scene stars, HighRoot promises a special festival experience for all age groups. General advance ticket sales start on March 31 at 12 noon.
Tickets are available for €29.90 from the official Summer in the City ticket store and all known advance booking offices, including the mainz STORE (Markt 17 / Domplatz).

HighRoot stands for electronic music in an open, cross-generational atmosphere. The concept combines high-quality DJ acts with a family-friendly setting, creating space for parents and children to enjoy a shared experience. While established artists from the house and techno scene perform on stage, child- and family-friendly activities ensure a relaxed environment. The aim is to bring people who used to party together again - now with their children and a new, more conscious festival experience.

The line-up is led by Milk & Sugar, who have been at the forefront of the international house scene for over 20 years. With classics such as "Let The Sun Shine", "Higher & Higher" and the worldwide hit "Hey (Nah Neh Nah)", they have written club history. The Disco Boys, who released one of the most influential dance hits of the 2000s with "For You", will also be performing at the Zitadelle. TOM NOVY, another internationally successful DJ and producer, completes the line-up. Known for tracks such as "Your Body" and "Superstar", he is a resident at the Ministry of Sound in London and has played in clubs from Ibiza to Miami and Dubai. Collaborations with artists such as Michael Jackson and Justin Timberlake as well as his presence on radio and TV have made him a permanent fixture on the scene.

The line-up is rounded off by influential personalities from the regional scene: schnick S. & Fernando and Paper Planes. The DJs represent the diversity and long-standing roots of electronic music in the Rhine-Main region and bring different influences from house, techno and club culture to the stage. Together they represent the local scene with experience, authenticity and a feel for the sound of the region.
