What it's about

It all starts with a few family photos at the beginning of a skiing vacation: parents and children laugh, wrapped up in their snowsuits. The vacation relaxation comes to an abrupt end when an avalanche hits while the parents and children are still having breakfast on the hotel terrace. There is no catastrophe, but while the mother stands protectively in front of the children, the father instinctively runs away. The cowardice of his actions weighs heavily on the parents' relationship and threatens not only to ruin the vacation, but also to put the whole marriage to the test.

With wicked humor, director Ruben Östlund, known for films such as "Triangle of Sadness" and "The Square", puts the classic image of a modern family to the test. An intelligent examination of conventional role models that can be discussed at length even after the theater visit. The young director Fritzi Wartenberg will take on the theatrical adaptation of the film by the renowned Welsh author Tim Price.
