Holzskulptur intensiv

In the organizer's words:

Wood is a material with its very own character, as malleable as it is resistant. Working with wood means responding to the characteristics of a piece of wood as well as experiencing your own possibilities and limits with the "opposite" wood. Under the guidance of Bremen sculptor Sarah Hillebrecht, you can create your own individual wooden sculpture. Without having to follow a standardized program, you will be guided step by step from design to implementation. The group will receive an introduction to the technique of hand carving, the tools and a foundation in materials science. You will also learn about the methodical workflow from the sketch to the finished sculpture. What is required is curiosity and a desire to work with wood, fun in creating as well as the desire to try something new. Sarah Hillebrecht leads the group and supervises all individual projects. The artist's individual tips are particularly helpful. They open up new possibilities in terms of form and content. You can bring your own wood, tools and ideas or make use of the resources provided.
Depending on your level of knowledge, you can then go deeper ... for example, to larger works or you will get an introduction to wood surface design using fire, i.e. get to know the working method of flaming.
