[ICMC] Installative Einblicke in die International Computer Music Conference, Tag 1

In the organizer's words:

Computer music is the focus of the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC), which has been bringing together interested parties from all over the world for over 35 years. Selected installations by international artists, musicians and scientists can be viewed and tried out at the Stellwerk on May 11 and 12.

Henry Windish, Tristan Peng & Henrik von Coler: MËSH

MËSH is an immersive music and media system that combines interactive sound art and live performance. Eight nodes in the network process motion data that is captured by cameras and analyzed using specially developed computer vision software. These control the sound generation, are spatially distributed in the network and thus form a continuously changing soundscape that is directly shaped by the interaction of the audience.

Rafaela Blanch Pires & Adriano Monteiro: DE/RE:GENERATION

Sculptures made of biodegradable bioplastic are reminiscent of Brazilian cicadas and their empty moulting remains - fragile exoskeletons that stand for absence, transformation and continuity. As touch-sensitive interfaces, they blur the boundaries between hearing and feeling, organic material and technological systems.

About the ICMC & Off-ICMC

The International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) is coming to Hamburg-Harburg. Every year for over 50 years, artists, musicians and scientists from all over the world have come together at the ICMC to explore the interplay between music and digital technologies. The Off-ICMC will take place from 11 to 16 May 2026: the free accompanying program on the topic of "Music in our digital age".

Selected concerts, workshops and installations at the conference are also open to the public!
