It's not what you think, allow me to clarify is a dance piece that opens up a dialog about resettlement, flight and migration - especially for people from developing countries and people of color in times of tightened immigration policies. The piece draws attention to "the other half of our reality" - people from devastated nations recovering from colonial turmoil and corrupt leadership while carrying a kernel of potential, resources and new beginnings.

Yasmine Calasse consistently explores the consequences of colonialism and, with her team, takes a nuanced perspective on migration, debunking stereotypes and questioning the logic of "white saviourism".
