On November 8, 2025, the Orangerie-Theater Cologne will open its doors for JAMBO DAY 2025 - a feast for all the senses and an intensive look at Kenya beyond the usual. A varied program of music, film, fashion, lectures, art and culinary highlights awaits you from 12 to 2 pm.
Experience the powerful live music of Nina Ogot, who combines traditional rhythms with an urban Afro-fusion sound. Immerse yourself in the story of "NAWI - Dear Future Me", an award-winning film about a young Kenyan girl searching for her own path. The fashion show "Kenyan Chic" by Brenda Chebet shows modern African elegance, while photo exhibitions, lectures and live reports offer exciting insights into Kenya's culture, everyday life and innovative power.
Culinary specialties, handicrafts and design invite visitors to discover and enjoy. Finally, RĀN (Techno Is Black Again) will provide a danceable night with their mix of house, techno and Afro/oriental influences.
JAMBO DAY is organized by the Cologne-based non-profit associations Treasures of Kenya e.V. and Source - Network for Humanitarian Action e.V. - both are committed to education, culture and sustainable development in Kenya. All proceeds go directly to their projects.
A day full of encounters, inspiration and culture - say "Jambo!" to a multifaceted Kenya.
