Jazz Open 2026: Marius Neset CABARET

Marius Neset is an internationally acclaimed saxophonist and composer. He began experimenting with rhythm and polyrhythms at an early age. After his breakthrough with the album Golden Xplosion, he has composed numerous commissioned works for orchestras, big bands and chamber ensembles, including Lion, Arches of Nature / Snowmelt, Viaduct and Geyser.

The Norwegian has received numerous awards, including EDVARD and Spellemann prizes, and was the only European to be included in DownBeat 's "25 for the Future" list in 2016. Alongside his compositional work, he tours the world as a bandleader and sideman. His music attracts musicians from a wide variety of genres and displays an extraordinary range and energy. At the Jazz Open, he will be presenting his new album Cabaret with his band.
