Shortly before its fortieth anniversary, the jazz choir "Body & Soul" of the HfMT Hamburg returns to the JazzHall. Under the direction of choir director Sophia Oster for the past three years, the ensemble combines a new warmth and heartfelt charisma with an expanded repertoire. Inspirations from New York Voices meet jazz standards from the Great American Songbook as well as Latin and gospel accents. You can hear compositions by John Kelley, Duke Ellington and Gene Purling as well as arrangements by Paris Rutherford, Roger Emerson and choir members. Erek Siebel accompanies on the piano, supported by a specially formed student band.
