Five women - Jessica, Perla, Julie, Naïma and Ariane - live together in a home for young single mothers. There they find support in everyday life and space to adjust to their new lives. As teenagers, they are faced with the challenge of taking responsibility - for themselves and for their child. Despite their different backgrounds, they share a desire for a new start and hope for a future beyond their previous circumstances. They not only fight against external resistance, but also with personal demons - and the question of how they can cope as young mothers in an often merciless society.
The Belgian-French production by brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May and won the screenplay prize.

Cinq jeunes mères qui ont l'espoir de parvenir à une vie meilleure pour elles-mêmes et pour leur enfant. A choral work that is sensitive, luminous, simple and profound at the same time, which won the Cannes Screenplay Award in May this year.
