He is a charismatic, unpredictable force in music. An improviser, musician, educator, mentor, producer and visionary composer. This versatility makes Jowee Omicil one of the most influential artists of his generation in Canada. Born and raised in Montreal as the son of Haitian immigrants, he first encountered music in his father's church, where he recorded hymns and gospel. At 15, he finally picked up the alto saxophone and came to a turning point that set his life on a bold new course.
Inspired by spiritual traditions, urban music and pop culture, he developed a boundless approach to music - vibrant, raw and deeply authentic. Channeling sounds with his whole being, he plays saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, rhodes and any instrument the moment demands. Like a nomad, always in search of new sounds and perspectives, he leaves a lasting mark wherever he goes.

A sonic exploration of the nuances of the rhythm of life
With "Living Being IV: Time Reflections", Vincent Peirani and his quintet present a work that is deeply rooted in the musical reflection and exploration of time.
On accordion, together with Tony Paeleman on piano and Rhodes, Emile Parisien on soprano saxophone, Julien Herné on bass and Yoann Serra on drums, he creates a mosaic in which the contemporary pulse and the echoes of traditional dances intersect. With a strong nod to baroque music, he finds an unexpected and poetic place for it. The intertextual resonances illustrate the richness and diversity that characterize Peirani's work, offering a musical experience that is both introspective and universal.
