Jugendkompanie tanzhaus nrw: Tracks

In the organizer's words:

The world is open to you.
All paths lie before you. Everything seems possible - as long as you make up your mind.

But what do I really want?
Do I stay on my path or do I take a shortcut?

Do I go left or right?
Do I still jump on the train - or has it long since left the station?

Between countless options, expectations, obligations and external influences, there is a risk of getting lost. Perfectionism becomes a compass that is not a compass.
A search for orientation in a labyrinth of fear, anger and excessive demands, between chance and luck.

In Tracks, the 16 dancers of the tanzhaus nrw youth company confront these questions - individually and as a community. How do we deal with fears of the future, FOMO and the fast pace of social media?
Dance becomes a means of expression for what words cannot express: a space to share emotions, draw strength and discover new paths.

Young people between the ages of 12 and 18 come together in the youth company at tanzhaus nrw to professionalize their dance and choreography skills and, in addition to weekly training sessions, bring an annual stage production to premiere. Based on their individual dance experiences, the young people independently develop movement material and choreographic elements and sequences. They are accompanied and coached by Nora Pfahl and Takao Baba, as well as other professional dancers. As a result, various dance impulses and dance forms are incorporated. Classical, contemporary and urban elements are fused together.

The youth company of tanzhaus nrw is a development project initiated from the take-off program in the field of dance talent development and was invited to the Tanztreffen der Jugend in Berlin in 2024 and 2025.
