Kaltehofe bei Nacht - diese Führung bringt Licht ins Dunkel!

This torchlight tour brings light into the darkness: discover the waterworks and the Elbe island of Kaltehofe with us at night! In the darkness of the island and amidst the lights of the neighboring industry, we explore the history of the former waterworks and the surroundings of the Elbe island of Kaltehofe.

During the tour, you will learn about the significance of the Great Fire of 1842 and the cholera epidemic of 1892 for Hamburg's water supply. Other topics on the tour include the natural environment on and around Kaltehofe, flood protection and interesting facts about our neighbors. These include the various companies around Billwerder Bay and on the Peute - and the environmental scandals of the 1980s.
