Paul "Crash" is a paramedic in Cologne. Since a car accident in his childhood in which his parents were killed, he has lived in a state of emotional numbness. He works shifts, saves lives and numbs his own emptiness with alcohol and drugs. One night he meets the pregnant November, who touches him in a way he hasn't allowed for a long time. A tender relationship develops between the two, which is overshadowed by the harshness of their everyday lives and Crash's inner demons. When a mission changes everything, Crash is faced with the decision of whether he can open himself up to life again.
