Canada and Alaska. There, untouched and wild nature is allowed to spread out, dominated by Mount Denali, the coldest and highest mountain in North America, bears fish for salmon in clear rivers, mystical relics of the indigenous peoples appear in the primeval forest and adventure is omnipresent in a seemingly endless land.

The photographer and world traveler with the camera captures the magic of the wilderness over many years. He let himself be pulled through the snow-covered country by sled dogs in the icy winter, in summer he hiked across the blooming mountain meadows of the Rocky Mountains and in Indian summer he photographed the gold of the Canadian forests. From the helicopter, he took pictures of the majestic Alaskan mountains and the seaplane took him to the places where the giant brown bears fish for salmon. Summer in Canada, traveling by motorhome to Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise and to the rodeos on the Alberta prairie, where Reiner Harscher photographed the daredevil cowboys at the rodeo, taking the viewer's breath away.
