Karina y su Radio Cafetal captivates the audience with an atmosphere of unique sounds from Mexico in the 30s and 40s, when the radio stations broadcast compositions that mixed guajira music with the rhythms that came from Cuba to the port of Veracruz and traditional Mexican music.

In their duet version with Porfirio Almazán, they discover the acoustic intimacy in which they reinterpret the boleros, danzonetes, sones and other Mexican genres that in those years were the passion in cabarets, dance halls, in the old cantinas or even in the countryside or ranches and haciendas in the south of Veracruz, in the case of Son jarocho.

This project, with a feminine soul deeply rooted in Caribbean music, also updates the classic romantic love songs that our mothers and grandmothers grew up with to give them a new meaning that helps us deconstruct ourselves without losing the nostalgia of old-school romances
