Everyone has a mother tongue. In MOTHER TONGUE, performer Kathrin Knöpfle combines an installative participatory exhibition with live performances in five experiential spaces and, together with her team, translates themes such as familial imprinting, colonialism, racism and gender roles into an artistic arrangement in which visitors can move freely. Familiar stage situations are dissolved and offer space for personal reflection. MOTHER TONGUE invites people with experience of migration, a feminist attitude and an interest in social criticism as well as anyone who wants to approach the phenomenon of "mother tongue" in the "fatherland" to exchange ideas.
