The film series with debut films by KHM graduates is showing the documentary by Filippa Bauer "The Statics of Dreams". The film premiered at the Hof Film Festival 2024 and has been released nationwide by the Dokomotive Plattform distribution company since September.

KHM graduate Filippa Bauer's debut film "The Statics of Dreams" provides insights into a largely unknown aspect of migration: many of the so-called "guest workers" from the former Yugoslavia built dream homes in the countries they left behind. Remaining in shell form, carefully furnished or now threatened by decay, they are mostly uninhabited. The houses bear witness to the planned but repeatedly postponed return from Germany and now pose a challenge for the next generation.

As children, they spent their summer vacations playing on building sites in what was then Yugoslavia; today, the dreams of their parents that were realized there are passing into their hands. The houses bear witness to the planned, but repeatedly postponed return from Germany - as a made family and with the whole family. Left in the shell, carefully furnished or now threatened by decay, they are mostly uninhabited. The film is dedicated to these rooms in quiet shots; the five protagonists relate to them.
