The KILDAN World Quintet combines oud, kanun, trumpet, saxophone, bass and percussion to create a unique sound between Iraqi Sufi tradition and Western modernity. Led by Kildan Maged, the ensemble inspires with spiritual sound journeys, pulsating grooves and top-class guest musicians - a highlight of the European world music scene!
When deep oriental timbres meet pulsating grooves, the result is musical fireworks that break down boundaries and unite cultures.

Founded by oud virtuoso Maged Kildan and today led by his son, the versatile musician Kildan Maged, the ensemble stands for a rousing symbiosis of Iraqi Sufi tradition and modern Western influences. Here, the meditative sounds of oud and kanun meet the energy of trumpet, saxophone, electric bass and percussion - a sound that is both deep and spiritual, but also lively and danceable.

Supported by renowned guest musicians, the result is music that takes the audience from Baghdad to Berlin - a journey full of spirituality, rhythm and emotion. With performances at festivals such as the Klangfest Munich, the Jazzweekend Regensburg and the Kulturhaus Milbertshofen, the quintet has long since proven itself: One of the most exciting formations on the European world music scene is growing here.
