📅 Sat 18.04., 15-16.30 h
Who lives in Cologne Cathedral?
The "photo detectives" investigate in the exhibition "Living Spaces - Contemporary Perspectives from NRW" (13.3.-12.7.2026), guided tour for children aged 6 to 10 years
With Didem Tuncer, art educator
How do people live and what makes a place a home? In the exhibition Living Spaces, the Photo Detectives explore these questions. Together we will discover photographs and films by artists from North Rhine-Westphalia who have observed their surroundings with a keen eye. They show people, their living environments and the places where everyday life takes place - in the city, in the countryside, indoors and outdoors.
We meet children, young people and adults, see houses, streets, parks and landscapes and quickly realize that each place tells its own story. Some images seem familiar, others surprise us or make us think. Old factories remind us of how people used to work, while new buildings show how cities are changing. In landscapes, we discover traces of the past and see how strongly people have influenced their environment.
As photo detectives, we take a very close look. We discover details and consider what pictures can tell us about a place. Who lives here? What does this place feel like? And what has changed over the course of time? The exhibition invites us to take a fresh look at our own surroundings and to discover the diversity of life around us.
