Leidy, Fina and Clara leave their children behind in distant cities, where they are raised by relatives while they move away to look after other people's children.
Switching back and forth between urban and rural scenarios, "Nana" delves deep into the conflicts that
conflicts faced by nannies who live with their employers. In a love chain where mother figures are replaced and duplicated, strong bonds are formed between children and their nannies, as well as between the nannies' children and the grandmothers or aunts who look after them. The film discusses the role of the mother, as well as different ways to define maternal love.
After the movie there will be an opportunity for a chat. We have invited Karla Pérez Aleth, who was raised by a nanny in the Dominican Republic as well as her mother.
