KlangBegegnung IV - Festival in the Kulturkirche Liebfrauen
Thorsten Töpp & Ensemble CRUSH

Following the successful KlangBegegnung events of previous years, Ensemble CRUSH is continuing its festival-like residency in Duisburg in 2025. On September 13 and 14, the special combination of contemporary music, improvisation and artistic exchange will once again be brought to life.

The guest of honor at the fourth edition of KlangBegegnung is the renowned Duisburg guitarist, composer and improviser Thorsten Töpp, with whom the ensemble has been collaborating for more than ten years. Together, they will curate a varied program that sets both retrospective and forward-looking accents.
In preparation for the concert on Sunday, performances and happenings will take place on Saturday, which will showcase various facets of Töpp's musical work in smaller ensembles. The concert on Sunday, September 14, will focus on the central work "Out of the blue", which Töpp wrote for the founding concert of Ensemble CRUSH last decade. Another highlight is the world premiere of a new work by Töpp, in which he himself will be performing on stage as a guitarist.
