Tone colors play a prominent role in this year's concert program of the Junge Kammerphilharmonie Rhein-Neckar - which won the German Orchestra Competition for the third time last year with the highest possible score and is 1st prize winner of the renowned "Summa Cum Laude" orchestra competition.

Beginning with the overture to the opera "The Magic Flute" by W. A. Mozart , we will immerse ourselves in the world of sound colors. From the lively world of Papageno to the glittering atmosphere of the Queen of the Night and the mysterious aura of the priests around Sarastro, we will conjure up changing nuances of sound from our instruments and whisk you away to Mozart's magical fairytale world.
Max Bruch's second string quintet - written well into the 20th century - once again summarizes the Romantic expressive possibilities in Bruch's oeuvre.
Before the interval, a world premiere awaits you: the four pieces op. 119 by Johannes Brahms in a version for strings. Brahms is said to have told friends that he planned to set the four piano pieces op. 119 for a string ensemble.
Unfortunately, there are no sketches by Brahms for this, but the special sounds of the pieces, which extend far into the future, the almost "orchestral" movement of the fourth piece, for example, and the atmospheric, almost impressionistic layering of thirds in the first intermezzo suggest an instrumentation for strings. Experience these pieces in a completely new guise and discover multi-layered, exciting details.
Our program culminates in the magical sound of Maurice Ravel's String Quartet in F major. Impressionistic colors, new playing techniques and orchestral expression combine to create an impressive work of art. Let yourself be enchanted by our colorful fireworks.
