Irish alternative rock band announces further shows

of their global Farewell Tour and a final album

Kodaline are one of Ireland's biggest rock bands and have been attracting international attention for the past 15 years. Originally formed under the name 21 Demands, the quartet of Steve Garrigan (vocals, guitar & piano), Mark Prendergast (guitar), Vinny May (drummer) and Conor Linnane (bass) celebrated their first number 1 hit in the UK in 2007 with the song "Give Me A Minute". After the band 21 Demands disbanded in 2011, May, Prendergast and Garrigan began a new chapter in 2013 under the name Kodaline with Jason Boland as their new bassist.

The debut EP "Kodaline" and their debut album "In a Perfect World" made the band from Dublin a rising star in the sky of alternative rock in Ireland and the UK with the number 1 single "High Hopes" and songs such as "Love Like This" and "All I Want". The use of "All I Want" in series such as "Grey's Anatomy", "Castle" and "The Vampire Diaries" finally allowed Kodaline to break through internationally and made the song the biggest hit with over 1.4 billion streams on Spotify. streams on Spotify, making it the biggest hit of her career. The accompanying album - which went five times platinum in Ireland - became the first of three number 1 albums in her home country to date and, in addition to entering the Billboard 200, also went platinum in the UK at number 3. "Coming Up for Air" continued the success story in 2015 with songs such as "The One" and "Moving On", before the LP "Politics of Living" became the band's third number 1 album in 2018 and established "Brother" as the second biggest hit of their career. After the long-player "One Day At A Time" (2020) and the live album "Our Roots Run Deep (Live)" , the band initially went quiet.

In October 2025, they finally announced that they were disbanding after more than ten years and would be playing a farewell tour in Cork, Dublin and Belfast. Kodaline are now extending their farewell tour in 2026 with dates in Asia, Australia, Europe and the UK. They also plan to release their fifth and final album at the end of the year. As the band themselves put it: "After over a decade together, we have made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Kodaline. We know this may come as a surprise, and it's definitely a bittersweet moment for us too. What we have shared with you has changed our lives forever. From busking on the streets of Dublin to selling out concerts and arenas around the world, it really has been the stuff of dreams. We want to end on a high, so before we say goodbye, we're heading into the studio one last time to record our fifth and final album as Kodaline. We are and will remain forever grateful for your love and support. It's been a journey we will never forget and we hope the music stays with you long after we've gone."
