Ensemble Redeo: Klassische Gitarrenmusik trifft Film- und Gamingmusik

Classical guitar music meets film and gaming music

The guitar ensemble "Redeo" was founded at the end of 2022 by former members of the Saxony-Anhalt State Guitar Orchestra. Today, around ten young guitarists make music together in the ensemble. Twice a year, they come together from all over Germany for extended rehearsal weekends, during which a concert program is intensively rehearsed and then performed. For many of the musicians, these gatherings represent a return to making music together, which is also reflected in the name "Redeo" (Latin for "I return").

The repertoire includes works from various eras, from baroque to classical and romantic to contemporary. A particular focus is on arrangements of well-known film music, for example from "Pirates of the Caribbean", "La La Land" or "The Children of Monsieur Mathieu", and more recently also melodies from the world of computer games. In addition to music purely for concert guitar, the ensemble also plays works that are given a special tonal variety by the inclusion of flute and mandolin. Since its foundation, the ensemble has already played several successful concerts in cities such as Braunschweig, Dresden and Magdeburg.
