Konzert: Fain-Perkal Tango

Autumn is concert time again at the Raupe. Look forward to great artists from the region. This time: Fain-Perkal Tango!

The duo Fain-Perkal Tango from Buenos Aires presents a tango concert of deep musicality, in which the concert guitar, the bandoneon, the chromatic harmonica and the voices live together. The broad repertoire includes great classics and contemporary tangos, some with music and lyrics written by the duo themselves.

The performers Nahuel Perkal (harmonica, bandoneón and vocals) and Matías Fain (guitar & vocals) search for a convincing aesthetic with artistic sensitivity and precision; their straightforwardness is impressive and suggests creative alternatives for the present.

Nahuel Perkal completed his academic training at the Conservatorio Superior "Manuel de Falla" and at the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda. He has been a member of several Argentinian ensembles such as Tenedor Libre, Cuarteto Sin Vento, Los Faroles, Quinteto Finisterre, Banquete Criollo and many others. Nahuel has been teaching chromatic harmonica in tango for more than ten years and currently directs the tango harmonica section at the Escuela de Música Popular de Avellaneda, a pioneer course in the formal and official training of the harmonica worldwide.

Matías Fain began his professional training at the SADEM (Sindicato Argentino de Músicos) music school and studied guitar with Professor José Cataldi. He continued his studies at the EMBA (Escuela de Música de Buenos Aires) and graduated with teachers such as Sebastián Zambrana, Abel Patrone, Jorge Trebino, Horacio Montesano, Fernando Taborda and others. At the same time, he attended the "Tango Seminars for Guitar" at the Academia Nacional del Tango, where he had the opportunity to study with teachers such as Aníbal Arias (Anibal Troilo's guitarist), Ramón Maschio (Mafalda Arnauth's guitarist) and Matías Faggiano. At that time, he also took the course "Composition and Orchestration for Popular Music" at SADAIC with the master composer and arranger José Carli. He currently teaches guitar and studies at the Conservatorio "Manuel de Falla for Tango and Folklore" with teachers such as Carlos Moscardini and Roberto Calvo.
