KONZERT: KARLA // Pablo Tarantino Quartet präsentiert vom TheaterPACK

In the organizer's words:

Alexandra Schedel and Nina Flieder are two musicians from Leipzig whose voices blend so harmoniously that they often sound like one. Their music moves between acoustic pop, chanson and jazz and tells with sensitivity and humor about what moves and accompanies the two of them. Stories that touch, make you smile and get under your skin.
Whether at a festival or a living room concert - on stages in various cities, the two give their audience moments in which everyday life fades into the background. An acoustic embrace that turns down the noise of the world for a moment.
In the temporary store, they are accompanied by their favorite band: Maximilian Müller on bass, Emmanuel Walter on piano and Hermann Spannenberger on drums.

With "Charnia", percussionist and composer Pablo Tarantino presents his debut album - a work that shapes the diversity of his cultural and musical background into an unmistakable sound language. The album title refers to a prehistoric creature that populated the oceans over 550 million years ago and is today understood as a symbol of the origin and beauty of life. Tarantino's music also traces these great themes: Love, belonging, alienation, development, birth and transience.
His artistic journey began as a teenager, as a student of modern music in Valencia and Barcelona. Stops in England, Scotland and Germany followed - always driven by the desire to translate the stories of the world around him into music. He is not only concerned with rhythm, but also with melodies, harmonies and textures, which he weaves into a multi-layered musical narrative. As a drummer, Tarantino combines instinct with technical mastery: complex rhythmic structures appear organic, light and full of energy. In his compositions, subtle layers of sound meet clear melodic lines - always connected by a common thread that never lets go of the listener.
For the realization, Tarantino has three outstanding musicians from the young German jazz scene at his side. Together they create nine original works, complemented by a tribute to the folklore of Argentina - a powerful reminder of the bandleader's roots and the mysteries of human existence.
