KONZERT: Ronja Sophie Putz // xlush präsentiert vom TheaterPACK

In the organizer's words:

Ronja Sophie Putz - violin, objects, voice

With prepared violin and voice, RSP weaves a delicately iridescent world of sound in which familiar and surprising sounds move through a corridor of filigree loop patterns and sound carpets into a constantly expanding silence. The violin becomes an extension of the body, its sound an extension of the voice. Acoustic illusions, subtle electronics and a violin prepared with screws and vibrators, which sometimes appears with bloodcurdling forcefulness, sometimes with almost inaudible delicacy and subtle humor, play with the listener's perception and open their ears to the borderland between sound and silence.
Ronja Sophie Putz, born in 1994, comes from a family of musicians and studies in Munich with Ingolf Turban. Her work is characterized by close collaboration with contemporary composers, various bands of different styles, performance and street music in several European countries as well as a wide-ranging solo and chamber music program spanning different epochs.
Creating rhythmically and harmonically sophisticated, yet accessible music is the credo of the four musicians of the band xlush, founded in 2021. With their debut album "panæ", released in 2023, the quartet dedicated itself to a concept that invites the listener on an excursion whose undertow is characterized by a never-ending flow of varied sound events. No cut should interrupt the three-part journey. The tracks on the album were recorded in one-take takes and simultaneously filmed with a 360° camera. The resulting mood has an almost hypnotic effect, which is reinforced by the bonus track "cinctulus", which draws even the most restless of contemporaries into the world of theta brainwaves.

Due to the exotic line-up, which dispenses with a bass instrument in the classical sense, the members are forced to constantly change musical roles and act as jumpers using electronic aids. There are moments when the violin lays out a carpet of fundamental sine sounds on which the saxophone runs riot with synthetic sounds with a tooth-drill attitude. Jan-Einar Groh (drums) and Fabian Adams (saxophone) enrich the multi-layered listening experience through the use of modular synthesizer systems, while Simeon Hudlet (guitar) and Felix Klingner (violin/vocals) make use of conventional effect devices to round off the songs with electro-acoustic facets.
xlush play new compositions that take you on a transcendent musical journey. So come aboard the progmetal spaceship and let's take off together. Once you've escaped your own orbit, you can expect a colorful melange of melancholic soundscapes, dance-inducing folk elements and monstrous riffs, without losing sight of the overall dramaturgy.
