Konzert: „trio:blur“ - Acoustic Jazz im Kulturhof Gohlis

Berlin double bassist Pepe Berns has been a fixture on the German jazz scene for 30 years and is now bringing a new trio to the stage with talented newcomers Emmanuel Walter on piano and Lucas Rauch on drums.
Although the musicians belong to different generations, they agree with much love and respect on a repertoire of works by well-known jazz protagonists who were - or are - revolutionary in their time and yet always kept an eye on the musical tradition of different genres or shaped a tradition for subsequent generations.
One aspect of the trio is to preserve for the collective memory some great compositions that are rarely performed today. This includes compositions by Keith Jarrett, Steve Swallow, Charlie Haden, Ornette Coleman and Branford Marsalis, as well as original compositions in a similar spirit. From all these influences, a unique sound is formed without losing itself, which only unfolds its facets in the stylistic spectrum.
This exquisite band does not simply play pieces, it tells stories and transports the audience to other worlds - atmospheric, energetic, virtuosic, dense and at the same time airy.
