When Annette Fuchs called Hans Knipp in 2011 and asked him for a program for the Singing Elder, he was immediately enthusiastic about the idea of being able to suggest a personal set list. During rehearsals, Hans Knipp unfortunately passed away unexpectedly and far too early, so that he was no longer able to witness the Knippschaff's first successful performance. Further performances followed, the highlight of which was in 2013, at the invitation of Kafi Biermann, Bömmel Lückerath and Hartmut Priess, on a large stage in Zeughausstraße for the 125th anniversary of the Museum of City History! Since then, the three have always enjoyed playing music with the Knippschaff when their schedule with the Bläck Fööss allowed. Since their departure from the Bläck Fööss in 2022, Bömmel and Kafi have been permanent members of the Knippschaff ensemble. In addition to the songs originally selected by Hans Knipp, a number of other songs from his pen have been added to the repertoire over the years, both classics and rarely sung gems. Fortunately, his musical legacy is large enough to provide surprises time and again in the years to come.
