Welcome back
Get ready to rethink everything you know about cumbia!
The unmistakable and unforgettable KUMBIA QUEERS from Buenos Aires will be back on tour in Europe in September 2026!

This non-binary and lesbian quintet combines the dirty, electronic-driven subgenre of cumbia villera with driving guitar rock to create a uniquely dynamic fusion of traditional and avant-garde sounds.

The band describes their style as 1000% Tropi Punk - with a wild mix of Afro-Cuban and Latin American cumbia influences, queerness and punk spirit, the musicians reinterpret Latin American heartbreak and macho posturing, combining fun and politics in their own captivating style.

The story goes back to 2007, when these musicians were fed up with the punk rock scene and decided to do something completely different:
Cumbia. What began as pure fun eventually led to the formation of KUMBIA QUEERS.

As NPR Latino puts it:
"They're not a punchline. They're serious."

Many members of KUMBIA QUEERS hail from the influential '90s Argentine punk trio She-Devils, bringing that band's signature grungy DIY style to life with million-streamed hits like "Mientes" and "Puesta."

Those who experience the band live on stage will be treated to a relentless wave of tropical punk originals, covers and new tracks from the group's newly released album.

A show with the KUMBIA QUEERS is more than just a concert; it's a celebration of inclusivity and freedom where everyone is invited to let loose and join the party!

The band has toured extensively throughout Latin America, Europe and the USA for over 15 years and played at festivals such as Rock al Parque, Cosquin Rock, Lincoln Center NYC, Vive Latino, Vive Latino, Boomtown, Sumarscene, Festival Mundial, Poolbar, TFF Rudolstadt, Colors of Ostrava, Antilliaanse Feesten, Festival de la cité Lausanne, Fusion Festival, Bardentreffen, Hafensommer and many more....
