Cumbia reloaded! The unmistakable Kumbia Queers from Buenos Aires are touring Europe again in September 2026! The non-binary and lesbian quintet combines the raw, electronic-influenced cumbia-villera subgenre with driving guitar rock to create a unique, dynamic fusion of traditional and innovative sounds. The band describes their style as 1000% tropipunk. A wild mixture of Afro-Cuban and Latin American cumbia influences, queerness and punk spirit. The musicians reinterpret Latin American macho posturing and heartbreak, combining fun and politics in their own captivating style. The story begins in 2007, when the musicians were fed up with the punk rock scene and decided to do something completely different: Cumbia. What began as a fun project eventually led to the formation of Kumbia Queers. Many members come from the legendary Argentinian punk band She Devils and revive the band's typical grunge DIY style with million-stream hits such as "Mientes" and "Puesta". A live performance by Kumbia Queers offers a rousing mix of tropical punk originals, cover versions and new tracks from the group's newly released album. Their concert is more than just a concert; it's a celebration of inclusivity and freedom where everyone is invited to let loose and join the party!
