A recent research study published in spring 2025 shows that art increases people's well-being.
These research findings now scientifically prove what artists, as well as creative artists and those interested in culture, have already established on the basis of experience. The Robert Bosch Hospital in Stuttgart is also aware of this artistic potential and has opted for an artistic design for the hospital premises. Renowned artists have already been able to work there.
The study states: "'Art is often seen as a luxury. However, our findings suggest that looking at art - whether as a hobby or through a targeted intervention - can promote well-being in a meaningful way,' said
MacKenzie Trupp from the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen. 'This opens up exciting possibilities for integrating art into everyday life and public health strategies. 'Visiting an exhibition, viewing artwork in a hospital or even online art offerings can all have a positive impact on mental health." However, art can not only have measurable positive effects on the psyche. It also does not have to have pathologically diagnosed illnesses. Art releases positive energies in people that can be felt and experienced, which then unfold in everyday life. Are you aware of the power of works of art?
You probably have a work of art at home that has a special potential for you personally. This work does not necessarily have to be associated with aesthetic criteria and high artistic standards. Please bring your "art power work", or a photo of it if it is too large, to the conference so that we can reflect on it.
The workshop will focus on creative, manual activities without prior artistic knowledge. The program is supplemented by theoretical art impulses, a "resource walk" in the neighbouring Exotic Garden or the exhibition and a concluding art coaching session.
