As part of the exhibition "Herber Döring-Spengler", we invite you to a round table discussion. Together with curator Helena Weber and companion Gabriele Uelsberg, Herbert Döring-Spengler will take a look at his artistic work. He will explain the background to his works and the sources of his ideas.
About the exhibition
For the first time, we are presenting central series from the oeuvre of the artist Herbert Döring Spengler in an exhibition. Large parts of his oeuvre have been in the Rheinisches Bildarchiv since 2015.
The exhibition includes original manipulated Polaroids, large-format prints and several series of portraits by the artist. We are also presenting "Diazettes", which create complex new visual worlds by superimposing newspaper images and texts.
The exhibited works shed light on the technical peculiarities of Döring-Spengler's work and provide insights into his working methods and artistic self-image. They bear witness to his great devotion to people, also in terms of motifs.
