It's any morning in any concrete ghetto in any Parisian banlieue. After a night of violence between the police and youths, the atmosphere is extremely tense. After a brutal interrogation, a 16-year-old struggles with death. His friends Vinz, Saïd and Hubert are driven by hatred of the system and vow revenge if their friend does not survive. Time is ticking like a bomb on this day that will change their lives.
The film is celebrating its 30th anniversary. It is considered a milestone in French cinema and in 1995 - with its raw aesthetics and political message - gave new visibility to socially critical themes.
