After a break-up, artificial turf salesman Rémi begins a relationship with a life-size doll. Her name: Audrey. At first, Rémi just tries to fight his pain and the loneliness that sets in. But when temporary worker Patricia starts working at his company, the doll mysteriously comes to life. His hitherto strictly regulated life falls apart at the seams.
Sophie Beaulieu's film captivates with its subtle staging and captivating humor. It raises profound questions: What is love? Is it possible to love without being loved back? And above all: to what extent can the object replace the person? The director does not provide an answer, but invites us to reflect on modern loneliness and the need for connection. LA POUPÉE celebrated its world premiere in the competition of this year's edition of the French Film Festival in Angoulême.

La Poupée explore avec délicatesse le vertige émotionnel de Rémi, empêtré dans sa douleur après une rupture. It is with the help of a doll called Audrey that he seeks a new equilibrium, right up to the arrival of Patricia, who will chambouler his strictly regulated world.
