Musiksalon // Extra: Chamber music, song and dance in unusual rooms in the Werkhaus of the Nationaltheater

The Werkhaus of the Nationaltheater is a labyrinthine building. Built in 1911 as the Liselotte School, it becomes a playground for all forms of music and movement during the "Long Night of the Arts". Everywhere in the building - on rehearsal stages, in corridors, stairwells and lobbies - chamber music, song, dance and electronics come together, sometimes for just a few minutes, sometimes in concentrated programs. Anyone promenading between the rooms experiences the transitions as an art form in their own right: tuba, flute, choir or violins resound on staircases, small dance improvisations and miniatures enchant the corridors. Pupils from today's Liselotte-Gymnasium are also guests and give an insight into the life of Liselotte von der Pfalz in a theater performance. The night begins at 7 p.m. with festive fanfares in the so-called loading zone, before the first promenade music and concerts can be heard in all corners of the building. The finale then belongs to our brass players, before you can round off the evening after 11 p.m. in the casino with jazz, blues and drinks. The "Long Night of the Arts" invites you to experience every room as a stage. An evening full of surprises, small wonders and great art - in the middle of Mannheim, but still a little out of the ordinary.
