Klangprisma 2026 - Konzert mit Kalkyl / Orange Earth / Nikra / OTS

In the organizer's words:

For the second time, the forum youth culture center will transform its premises into a vibrant music club on 24.04.2026 together with the Cultural Office of the City of Mannheim! Once again, a colorful musical spectrum of sounds will be presented, which once again shows how diverse, passionate and captivating Mannheim's music scene sounds!

After the successful start in 2025, the cultural office wants to achieve two goals with the Klangprisma cooperation in the current edition: On the one hand, the spaces of the forum youth culture center are to be made more visible as an important music club in Mannheim. On the other hand, the diverse and top-class Mannheim music scene is to be presented.

KALK¥L (acoustic/indie)

KALK¥L - two friends from Mannheim who make psychedelic indie with a lot of soul. Their daily routine usually follows the same ritual: coffee, a suitable loop, guitar sounds until the room warms up and vocals somewhere between a vulnerable falsetto and a rough in-your-face scream. They love sounds that you can almost touch: distorted guitars, Mellotron wobble, a bass that touches the floor. Their songs move between intimacy and liberation. "Losing My Head" is a good example - created when closeness felt fragile and they were trying to preserve it. KALK¥L share their music as it grows; sometimes as a duo, sometimes a full band, but the heart remains the same. If you love analog warmth, indie soul sounds and catchy melodies, KALK¥L is the band for you.

ORANGE EARTH (Modern Jazz)

Orange Earth" mixes influences from alternative rock, jazz, minimal and electronic music. Silvina Gaß (composition and saxophone) creates her very own style that bridges the gap between improvised music and danceable subgenres.

Gaß is supported by Etienne Grüness (guitar), Philip Weyand (keys), Max Schroth (bass) and Julius Steyer (drums). The Mannheim-based band will present their debut EP "Orange Earth" in April.

NIKRA (Alternative Rock)

In a world that is slowly moving towards the abyss, divided by hatred and oppression, many seek solace in money, drugs and selfies. The shrinking middle class is resigned and apolitical, the punks have grown old and lost their anger. While many of the new generations only think about their own goals, such as careers and nuclear families, there is one that is loud and worth fighting for: NIKRA is the symbol of a movement that can't sleep, hasn't been to school on Fridays, lives diversity, whose anger is not understood, and which cries out for a future! NIKRA makes music for the playlist generation, whose raw sound is so loud that cell phone speakers explode. A generation that sees genre and gender assignments as an obstacle. NIKRA is the voice of rebellion and the thunder to the rainbow!

OTS (House, UK-Garage, IDM)

OTS is a live act for electronic music between house, UK garage & minimal funk. Behind the mysterious abbreviation lies a collabo between Mannheim musicians and tech nerds Ephraim Giepen and Thilo Eichhorn.

The two share a strong love of experimentation and attention to sonic detail, which they live out to the full in their joint improvisations. Then a delightfully nuanced orchestra of distorted guitars, synths and percussion flickers around your ears. While the foundation of beat and bass ensures that the music - despite all its possible escapades - always remains danceable. If you get lost, don't worry. Just feel it!
