"Julien Gasc is an understated but influential figure in the French indie music scene. Over the decades, he has established himself as a unique voice of French psychedelic rock, combining melodic elegance, surrealist poetry and sonic experimentation. The talented multi-instrumentalist is best known for his solo work, but is also a founder and member of the free rock, far-out jazz and experimental pop band Aquaserge. Gasc joined Stereolab as keyboardist and backing vocalist for their 2008-2009 world tour and continues to collaborate with Laetitia Sadier, Tim Gane and Sean O'Hagan. In 2013, Julien launched his solo career with the album "Cerf, biche et faon" on the Born Bad label, an intimate and dreamlike record. His new album ""Perles, coraux & requins", produced and recorded in Berlin with Anton Newcombe of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, was finally released on September 5, 2025. Whether he writes for himself or for others, he goes his own way, true to his artistic standards and his unique sensibility."
