What does it mean to really understand something or not? What language is needed to create understanding? And what happens when precisely this attempt to understand and misunderstand becomes the subject of an evening of theater? Author Nele Stuhler and director FX Mayr, together with actors from the Deutsches Theater and the inclusive RambaZamba Theater, embark on a poetic journey of exploration: into the very heart of speaking, writing and productive misunderstanding.

"Leichter Gesang" is not a text that provides ready-made answers. Rather, it consciously locates itself in not-knowing, uses language as its own material and at the same time critically questions it. In doing so, Nele Stuhler works with the principles of easy language without adopting them one-to-one. The result is a language that is both simple and multi-layered, which seems unfamiliar to everyone and therefore invites everyone to approach it with caution. Questions of power and the limits of language are central themes and what seems understandable and then eludes us again in the next moment. Terms are reorganized and questioned. A text that resounds in speaking, singing and playing and makes it possible to experience that understanding does not consist of merely mastering language, but in a joint attempt to approach it.
