Sometimes life forces you to take a break, whether you want to or not. My novel is about what it feels like when it's no longer possible to keep running in the hamster wheel of always having to keep going. And: how things can go on after a major stroke of fate. When I was confronted with personal catastrophes myself, I was quite alone, and I didn't want that for my protagonist Hanna. It appealed to me to come up with characters who show that humor is essential in difficult times and that it holds people together. What I've learned is that you only know how strong you are when you have to be strong. I want to pass on this self-confidence. I hope that with my book I can give hope and comfort to those who also need a break right now.
