Karina and Tonya share everything - their studies at a Moscow university, drunken men, empty wallets, but above all: the goal of emigrating to Europe. While one part of Russian society sinks between luxury cars and caviar, the other cheats its way through life penniless. Karina has also learned to master every situation with wit and madness. But more and more, her dreams take precedence over her friendship with Tonya, and what once sounded like a great 'forever' suddenly becomes fragile.

In her debut novel "Moscow Mule", Maya Rosa skillfully interweaves the political with the urge for freedom of growing up and shows with a unique sound full of wit and wisdom that you can break many a social chain with joie de vivre.

Maya Rosa, born in 1987, was born and raised in Russia. She studied in Moscow and Berlin and is a graduate of the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. Maya Rosa lives with her family in Berlin.

Wlada Kolosowa, born in St. Petersburg in 1987, works as an editor for DIE ZEIT. She works as a freelance journalist for Spiegel Online, Der Tagesspiegel and rbb. Her novel "Der Hausmann" has already been featured in "Berlin liest ein Buch".
