Why we sometimes don't feel like having sex | An honest book about sexual diversity, listlessness & social expectations
Sexual desire is considered a benchmark for intimacy, relationship quality and personal fulfillment. But what happens when it doesn't happen? When we don't feel like having sex, even though "everything is actually right"? When "I'm tired" is just a euphemism for something we can barely name ourselves?
Even in her youth, Maria Popov was never really in the mood for sex with men and came across a word that described her feeling for the first time: Asexuality. But what exactly does that mean? In "Kein Bock Club", the presenter talks about her first period, failed attempts at flirting, exciting ear massages - and the relief when you realize: I'm not alone with all these feelings.
This book is for you if you're wondering:
With acumen and humor, Maria Popov uncovers myths about libido, relationships and sexuality. She explains how lust works, why sexual diversity is more than just a question of identity and what happens when we stop seeing listlessness as a deficit.
Maria Popov, born in Bulgaria in 1993, is a journalist and presenter.
