About the book: " Love is often glorified as the highest ideal. But what if this ideal is more a social construct than a universal truth? In this book, Nora Kellner deconstructs the romantic concept of love and shows how closely it is interwoven with capitalism and patriarchy. What does this mean for people who live outside these norms, for aromantic and asexual people? Which forms of relationship are systematically devalued? And what could alternatives look like? From romantic friendships and queer platonic relationships to self-determined solitude, this book opens up new perspectives on closeness, intimacy and belonging and poses the crucial question: what utopias become possible if we think about love differently? BIO: Nora Kellner studied political science and sociology in Dresden and is currently studying for a Master's degree in Gender and Queer Studies in Cologne. She works in educational work on gender, sexual and romantic diversity in schools. The book "Liebesmacht" will be published by Unrast Verlag in fall 2025
