Souleymane has fled Guinea and is trying to apply for asylum in France. As he has no passport, he urgently needs money to get his papers. To make ends meet, he works as a food delivery man - under hair-raising conditions. He only has 48 hours until his appointment with the migration office. Until then, in addition to all the stress, he has to come up with a plausible story to prove his reasons for fleeing. Up-and-coming director Boris Lojkine, who won the Audience Award at Locarno in 2019 with CAMILLE, has created a highly suspenseful and moving drama about migration, the gig economy and life in a big city with SOULEYMANE'S STORY. Abou Sangare was named Best Leading Actor in Cannes and at the European Film Awards for his portrayal of Souleymane.

L'Histoire de Souleymane suits le quotidien d'un jeune Guinéen sans-papiers à Paris. Livreur à vélo, condition précaire, logements d'urgence : Souleymane tente de survivre avant son entretien auprès de l'OFPRA, nécessaire pour obtenir le droit d'asile. Porté par la performance bouleversante d'Abou Sangaré, personnellement touché par ces réalités, ce drame social et thriller lumineux donne corps à l'invisible, invitant à l'empathie et à la réflexion.
