Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe. The former French colony, which is now an overseas department, is the scene of rapid urban renewal. In the midst of this upheaval, the inhabitants tell the story of Guadeloupe and the inertia of this island. For five years, director Malaury Eloi Paisley roamed this labyrinthine city and filmed her relationships with its inhabitants. Through their eyes, she explores the collective memory of an area where time seems to stand still. L'HOMME VERTIGE: TALES OF A CITY celebrated its world premiere at the Forum of the Berlinale 2024 and won the Étalon d'or de Yennenga documentaire at FESPACO 2025.
