Lied United - Die Reihe für akustisches Liedgut

After the short summer break, the three creators of the Cologne concert series Lied United have once again selected a very special program for their songwriter series in the extraordinary Loreley pub in September.

The painter, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, author and performance artist Peter Piek is coming from Leipzig to join the Lied United team. The multi-talented artist, who has toured three continents for exhibitions and concerts, recently attracted attention with an album that he recorded on the Trans-Siberian Railway. But it is also his unique voice, his timeless songs and the constant attempt to combine painting and music, a collage of alternative pop, piano pieces with beats and eclectic harmony that make him so special.

And the second guest on this evening is also extraordinary: the Wee Lil' Band was born in 2007: genotype punk, phenotype alternative country. The first sign of life was the debut album released in 2009 on the Cologne garage label High Noon Rec.
In the meantime, the band had to be kept alive with the help of acoustic guitars and virtual drummers, but now the small band is happily growing and thriving again and, with the addition of bass and drums, is increasingly indulging its psychedelic and noisy side, as can be heard on a recently released EP. For their guest appearance at Lied United, the band's "harmonists" have announced a few surprises as the duo Christian (acoustic guitar) and Christian (piano with organ).

The series will be opened in September by Who Is Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf?, the band of Lied United presenter Wolfgang A. Noethen. The singer/songwriter creates highly melodious, wistful indie folk songs with radiantly beautiful melodies, sometimes alone with guitar, banjo, harmonica and theremin, sometimes as a trio with cello and violin.
